Student Production Technician
Location: Moncton, NB
Status: Full-time, Temporary
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who displays strong attention to detail, a dedication to learning, and an ability to change tasks easily as required in a fast- paced work environment. The Student Technician will work closely with the Moncton Production team and will be assigned to work with various departments; including Cultivation, Post-Harvest, Manufacturing, Sanitation, depending on the staffing needs that day.
This position includes physical demands such as reaching, bending, walking, standing, performing repetitive work and lifting to 50 lbs;
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to students who are an immediate family member (for example, child, grandchild, niece, nephew, sibling) of a current Organigram team member as of the time of application and who will continue their employment throughout the summer.
Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in a Canadian college or university or completing their high school education and enrolled to start their post-secondary education in the fall of 2025. Additionally, academic excellence by the student is also a priority, with a minimum grade average of 70%, or equivalent GPA, required in the most recent semester. Preference will be given to the following fields of study; Science programs, Business programs, IT, Engineering, Trades including mechanics, electricians, ICTs, HVAC. Confirmation of acceptance / enrollment will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Various cannabis crop care activities, including transporting, de-leafing, pruning, watering, pinching and also harvesting plants;
- De-leafing and de-boning cannabis plants following harvest;
- Supporting the cannabis drying process including the proper placement and handling during drying, sorting into required brackets, processing as needed including milling or hand trimming;
- Support the cannabis packaging process by dispensing product into its primary and / or final packaging either manually or by machine;
- Responsible for general housekeeping of production area, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and work areas, as per Health Canada standards;
- Organizes and maintains materials, restocks supplies or product when needed;
- Transports product and material between designated work areas;
- Proper adherence to and maintenance of PPE (bump cap, cut resistant gloves, eyewear)
- Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Production Practices (GPP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), department Work Instructions (WIs) and best practices;
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
