Energy Projects - Senior Construction Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team in Winnipeg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, leadership, and community engagement. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations, project stewardship, and maintaining relationships with community members, vendors, and clients. The successful candidate will ensure the timely and profitable completion of projects while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Key Job Duties:
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Oversee all field operations to achieve timely and profitable project completion.
- Manage and maintain relationships with key community members and groups.
- Directly supervise project teams, including training, and overseeing subcontractors and employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work; provide feedback, rewards, and discipline as necessary.
- Address complaints, resolve problems, and monitor accountability for safety, quality, compliance, and environmental programs.
- Develop, implement, and manage project-specific control plans.
- Manage all project reporting requirements, both internally and externally.
- Maximize the use of resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Address concerns related to local contracting and employment.
- Support a respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental work environment.
- Identify and address conflicts and risks that may impact communities, the company, or projects.
- Develop project plans including scope, budget, schedule, and team responsibilities.
- Assist with the tender process, budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and progress reports.
- Oversee pre-construction activities, including estimating and proposals development.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent field and professional experience preferred.
- Prior experience in field supervision, Project Coordination, or Project Management is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Experience in creating and implementing reports and procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and deliver on commitments.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and forward-thinking.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Tank construction and modification experience are an asset.
- Sound judgment and maturity, with the ability to view people and situations from diverse angles and creatively identify solutions to problems.
