Job Overview

Kingston Midstream is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our collaborative team of Integrity professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible to maintain and continuously improve the Internal and External Corrosion Management Programs and provide engineering oversight to the Pipeline Depth Monitoring Program.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve integrity management activities to prevent, monitor and mitigate internal corrosion, external corrosion and third-party damage. This requires collaboration with various stakeholders and may include inspections, data analysis and verification, risk assessment and execution of mitigative actions
  • Ensure conformance to Kingston Midstream’s Integrity Management Program requirements; develop new and maintain existing procedures, standards, and work instructions for the management of internal and external corrosion and prevention of third-party damage, in compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Ensure integrity management plans are adequately scoped for inclusion in the annual budget and long-range planning processes while applying cost-benefit analysis and fit-for-purpose principles
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to project execution teams to ensure completion of project scopes and documentation safely, on schedule, and on budget
  • Apply technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to complete pipeline system engineering assessments
  • Provide timely technical support, expertise, and analysis necessary to support operational or project related issues, and regulatory requests
  • Participate in or lead, as directed, any investigation, reporting, and follow-up activities associated with departmental incidents or pipeline loss of containment events

 

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily office-based (75%), with regular travel to and from field sites in northern Alberta, southeast Saskatchewan, southwest Manitoba.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree and registered as a Professional Engineer within Canada; eligible for registration with APEGS or APEGM or APEGA
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience related to pipeline integrity and operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of CSA Z662, Canadian Energy Regulator Onshore Pipeline Regulations, and Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba provincial legislation, as well as project and construction management processes
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical and complex information to a range of audiences either verbally, in writing, or through presentations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that can be used to make confident decisions
  • AMPP/NACE certifications considered an asset
