Facilities Specialist (Onsite)

Meaningful work you will be a part of 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Hands-on building and equipment repair and maintenance: Doors; lighting; flooring; blinds; minor plumbing (plugged toilets, leaky faucets); furniture reconfiguration and moves; salting and snow removal; sourcing and purchasing materials; running errands. 

• Vendor/contractor coordination: Janitors, locksmith, appliance repair, furniture installation, fire alarm system inspections including backflow preventors, waste and recycling. 

• Vendor/contractor coordination in conjunction with the Equipment Maintenance Team (where relevant): Including HVAC, roof and building leaks, pest control. 

• Projects: Managing small improvement projects using external subcontractors; implementing facilities actions from the health and safety committee; assisting IT with minor changes to IT equipment and infrastructure.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: 

• Minimum 2-3 years related experience coordinating and assisting facilities projects in a collaborative environment. 

• Completed university education in a related field is desirable, e.g. facilities management, engineering, etc. 

• Demonstrated experience at troubleshooting minor repairs; comfortable with using a variety of hand tools. 

• Proven experience to work independently and is self-motivated; (You like to get things done!) 

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.); experience with MaintenanceCare is a bonus. 

• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. 

• Flexible and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities. 

• A positive attitude, friendly, and welcoming manner. 

Compensation 

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted. 

• $55,600 – $72,400 CAD Annually
