To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

 

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients. 

 

As an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a significant role in the development and implementation of an Environmental Health & Safety program, with the goal of providing a safe working environment for all employees.  

 

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. 

 

Meaningful work you will be a part of 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of all EHS policies and programs to align with corporate goals and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Conduct EHS program audits, facility inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in new and existing equipment and processes. 
  • Observe and engage in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and initiatives. 
  • Aid in completing occupational hygiene exposure assessments. 
  • Aid in the development and delivery of safety training, including new hire orientation, inspection and proper use and care of PPE/RPE, safety device operation, etc.
  • Conduct field- and office-based ergonomic assessments. 
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses. 
  • Support manufacturing, training, and engineering department stakeholders by responding to EHS-related enquiries. 
  • Organize the repair, maintenance, calibration and replenishment of EHS equipment and supplies. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure timely completion and reporting of EH&S projects. 

 

What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: 

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Occupational Hygiene or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science-related program with an aptitude for Occupational Health and Safety. 
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience in an ISO 13485 or AS9100 regulated manufacturing facility preferred. 
  • Desire to work as part of a team, helping to drive EHS mindset and improvement initiatives. 
  • Good working knowledge of OHS regulations and other applicable standards (i.e. CSA, ANSI, NIOSH). 
  • Project management experience an asset. 
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to grow relationships and influence stakeholders.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and technical documentation skills.  
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and lead multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required, with experience using Smartsheet an asset. 
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as required. 

 

Compensation 

 

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted. 

 

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan. 

  • 60,000 – 80,000 CAD Annually
