Meaningful work you will be a part of
You will be responsible for delivery of the electronics and software (i.e. automated control systems) for Kardium’s custom automated equipment. Examples of equipment that we control include lasers, multi-axis motion systems, pneumatic valves, and heaters. Specific responsibilities include:
Planning automation activities:
- Lead a team of automation engineers, assign and prioritize individual responsibilities, develop project schedules, and determine resource requirements for automation deliverables.
- Ensuring the automation team’s activities are consistent with the QMS and regulatory requirements.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and develop scope for projects requiring automation resources.
- Prioritize, schedule, and assign projects to automation engineers.
Executing automation activities:
- Ensure automation team members are working closely with other teams as required to capture requirements, ensure sufficient testing of outputs, provide ongoing support for existing jigs, and resolve interdisciplinary issues.
- Ensure adequate technical review and is conducted for automation design outputs.
- As required, and depending on team size, execute automation tasks (design of software and electronics) as an individual contributor.
Team leadership:
- Provide constant feedback and mentorship to team members
- Work with team members to address training needs and learning and development goals

- Software and electronics development skills and knowledge normally acquired through at least five years of working experience.
- Interest or experience in technical team leadership; setting realistic and attainable goals, providing room for growth, and establishing a shared vision of team objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with track-record of driving consensus with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and new information
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $ 120,000 – 151,000 (CAD Annually)
