To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

The Facility Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operations of plant and facilities equipment, while providing focused engineering support for renovations, facility upgrades, retrofits, modernizations, and repairs.  

 

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.  

 

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will include:

  •  Managing and supporting multiple projects including the installation, maintenance and repair of the infrastructure such as humidification systems, compressors, and generators.
  • Establishing, managing, and optimizing preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities for facility systems (compressor, HVAC, cleanroom, generator, chillers, etc.)
  • Develop and implement various improvements ranging from building and process layout, energy savings, and operational savings.
  • Planning for the enhancement of facilities and utilities in relation to their expected lifespan and future requirements.
  • Development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for our systems, including Chilled Water (CHW), Low-Pressure Hot Water (LPHW), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Compressed Air systems, among others.
  • Execute projects small and large, working individually or part of a larger team, with a large variety of concurrent tasks and projects.
  • Manage facilities related documentation which may include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, Work Instructions, Qualification cleaning and certification reports etc.  
  • Coordination of contractor management.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or similar) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project etc.)
  • Experience owning multiple projects and applying Project Management principals.
  • Experience interpreting & reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades and contractors. 
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills.  
  • Effectively communicate in a professional manner.  
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, fire, health and safety, building, plumbing and electrical codes.
  • Working knowledge of EPA and DEM regulations. 
  • Must have preventative maintenance experience.
  • Experience with building management systems controls (i.e. air, water, gas, boiler, etc.)
  • Ability to respond and manage critical situations in a timely manner.     

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $84,000 – $100,000 (CAD Annually)
