Manufacturing Engineering Technologist (Onsite)

Atrial fibrillation can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.
Kardium has a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market: The Globe® Pulsed Field System. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.
We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.
Please note, this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of
Your responsibilities will include:
- Define and execute test plans for new and updated manufacturing processes
- Support the implementation of new processes, automation projects and assembly lines
- Source, machine, assemble, and install equipment in both manufacturing and the training center.
- Modify and upgrade equipment to support design changes in production and the training center
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with their implementation.
- Assist in qualifying equipment and collaborating with various team members to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues
- Other tasks as assigned

You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:
Experience & Qualifications:
- Hands on craftsperson with an eye for detail and precision
- Technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, or machine shop work
- Experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment along with an understanding of GMP would be an asset
- Knowledgeable of quality management systems such as ISO 13485 would be an asset
- Experience with highly tolerance mechanical components and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Familiarity with assembly, test and documentation requirements for medical devices
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent technical documentation skills.
- Ability to deal with changing priorities and requirements.
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to read assembly drawings, procedures, and part lists
- Ability to use the following tools
- Socket sets & wrenches, pliers, screw drivers
- Soldering & laser welding equipment
- Some mill and lathe experience desirable
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $65,000 - $85,000 (CAD Annually)
