Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Sales Assistant will be focusing on assisting with daily sales related tasks and customer interaction. This includes understanding customer’s orders, requirements, and targets.
Duties and responsibilities
- Send portal links to customers to fill out customer information and track internally if the customer has completed requirement.
- Pro-actively look at the daily packing plan and see if all the information has been received before the fruit goes to pack.
- Customer interaction which includes answering customer emails and requests.
- Taking pictures of fruit packing and sending to the customers requiring it.
- Creation of air pricelists with the administration team.
- Sending out air pricelists to customers and communicating delays if any.
- Informing customers of order progress and completion.
- Check air booking sheet and inform customers of flight information before the pre-alert.
- Sending all samples to FedEx.
- Order tracking daily and updating the team when the orders are complete.
- Working with the administrators to ensure every order in the system is up to date, correct and valid.
- Update website and social media including newsletters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly organized with an exceptional eye for detail.
- Previous experience in sales, logistics or customer service will be considered an asset.
- Must be a flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment.
Working conditions
Our working environment is extremely challenging over a short period of time. Applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment and days off may be limited during our growing and packing season. Applicants should be aware that:
- They will need to go into the processing plant to oversee processing of our cherries (the processing plant is approx. 0 degrees, and hairnets, gloves, and masks must be worn as well as all hand hygiene and food safe practices be followed).
- They need to be able to lift cases of cherries (upwards of 25 lbs)
- Previous experience is also an asset in an agricultural environment (either nursery, orchard, vineyard or other agricultural farming background).
- Work hours are generally at least 50+ hours per week, weekend work will be required.
- As this this is a farming environment, overtime does not apply.
- Applicants must be available from mid-June until early September.
- Compensation: $21.00-$24 per hour commensurate with experience.
