Accountant

Freson Bros., an Alberta-owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites experienced self-starters to apply for the Accountant position. Based out of the Freson Bros. Operations Office in Stony Plain, this position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day Accounting and Finance operations of the company.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of operational experience in a full-cycle accounting position

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting and/or an Accounting Diploma

• Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis and reporting

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

• Strong organization skills and knowledge of accounting principles

• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and accounting software

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review journal entries, and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with accounting principles and standards

• Provide support to other members of the Finance and Accounting team

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports

• Perform financial analysis and support other financial projects as needed

Position Details:

• Position Type: Full Time

• Reports to the Controller

• Work Environment: In-Person, Stony Plain Operations Office

• Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 / year based on education and experience
