Job Title: Subject Matter Expert – Advanced Manufacturing – CNC Programming
Department: School of Trades and Technology
Location: Remote opportunity
Status: Casual Part-Time (Contract Position)
Contract Duration: Immediate need – May 2025

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in Advanced Manufacturing
- Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming
- Experience with manual programming and post-processing for CNC machines
- Advanced expertise in industry-standard CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, CATIA, or Siemens NX
- Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup, calibration, and operation (e.g., mills, lathes, routers)
- Understanding of machine coordinate systems, offsets, and tooling requirements
- Understanding material properties, machinability, and cutting parameters for metals, plastics, and composites
- Experience creating interactive and practical learning experiences
- Highly effective communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in learning management systems (Brightspace or Moodle) and the use of remote delivery and educational technologies is an asset
- Capacity to commit to the course development over the next 4-5 months is required
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert and work closely with an Instructional Designer and Program Leader to plan and develop curriculum content
- Develop a course outline including learning outcomes, evaluations, required resources and learning plans
- Participate in meetings with various stakeholders to address the proposed course(s)
- Respond to and amend documents, as required to address internal reviews
