Job Title: Infrastructure Technologist
Department: Educational Technology Services (ETS)
Location: College Drive Campus
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Hours Per Week: 37.50 hours
Pay Range: Payband J - $42.56 to $49.34/hour

Qualifications:
- Three (3) Year Diploma or Degree in Computer Science diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) Years of experience with a primary focus on EdTech and in-class systems, experience in a technical analytical position responsible for implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure environments comprised of at least 5 of the following: Active Directory, Windows Servers, Red Hat Linux, Storage Area Networks, Virtual Storage, Networking technologies, Identity Management (MIIS / FIM), Exchange, Firewalls, Telcom, IIS, Clustering, backup and recovery, Academic and Instructional systems, IT Security, licensing and implementation
- Proven experience in infrastructure planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be able to reliably commute daily and/or relocate to North Bay, ON
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and support EdTech hardware, software and in-class systems
- Provides resolutions and infrastructure support for issues escalated from the Service Desk Level 2, Systems and Management as it relates to EdTech hardware, software or in-class systems
- Assists Senior technical staff in gathering statistics and information about the current operating environment
- Provides proactive and reactive diagnostic analysis and maintenance activities, including applying patches, hot-fixes or modifying system configurations
- Creates and maintains documentation of system settings, server lists, services & configuration items, technical resource documents, infrastructure diagrams, and contract & maintenance agreements related to EdTech hardware, software and in-class systems
- Maintains current technical knowledge of a broad spectrum of computer and communication hardware and software, both administrative and academic
- Assists in forming educational technology direction and decisions through testing and evaluating emerging technologies as assigned by Technology Architects and IT Management
- Collaborates with end users to solve complex user issues and suggest technical solutions
- Other duties as assigned
