About the Role:
The Construction Manager is a critical role responsible for leading and managing the construction of new restaurant locations and relocations within a designated area of the country. This position requires a hands-on, construction-minded individual with the expertise to oversee all aspects of the development process, from planning to final execution.
As the primary point of contact for franchisees and project stakeholders, the Construction Manager ensures projects are delivered on time and to the company’s high standards. Key responsibilities include managing construction schedules, facilitating communication between teams, conducting site visits, and troubleshooting issues to drive successful outcomes. This role directly supports the growth and operational goals of the organization by ensuring seamless execution of new build and relocation projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the main point of contact for franchisees, guiding them through the construction process and addressing inquiries and concerns promptly. Research and resolve construction-related inquiries, ensuring smooth project execution and proactive issue resolution.
- Manage all facets of new and relocation construction projects to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align on goals and outcomes.
- Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with internal teams, franchisees, and contractors to ensure alignment and drive progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain critical project documents, such as equipment orders, floor plans, and internal tracking forms. Provide regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in construction management, general business, or project management preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role or industry and in a professional environment required.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
- Previous work experience in a similar role including remodel projects and new site development with an emphasis on in the QSR industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations, including ADA and typical building codes.
- PC knowledge with the ability to use the following software programs: FranConnect, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office suite, Internet.
- Ability to read/use AutoCAD drawings, floor plans, measurements, etc.
- Must be able to work well independently and be able to work well with others on team projects.
- Residence within the assigned territory, with the ability to travel as required (60%).
